Home exercises

As part of a rehabilitation treatment protocol, we often set home exercises for your pet, to help in the recovery process, especially with regard to strength, balance and coordination, endurance and flexibility. Specific exercises are chosen for each individual patient, based on the condition we are treating, the particular disease processes going on, the patient’s age, fitness level, stage of recovery and overall health, the owner’s ability and level of commitment and other factors.

Exercises are also tailored with regard to level of difficulty, frequency, repetitions and progression during the rehabilitative process. All exercises are described in the report we will send you, but we can also supply you with visuals and, in some cases, explanatory videos of how to perform these exercises correctly.

During repeat visits, we will also be able to show you how to do the exercises on your own dog, to make sure they are done correctly and efficiently.
